I found a cluster with a Tach from a Sable i want to put in my Taurus, but the cluster had a crack on the plastic cover piece. Would it be a perfect fit if i just got a the cluster out of the Sable and a plastic cover from another Taurus and put that on the cluster?

You don't have your year/make/model...going to assume 1990-1995 model.

The tachometer, speedometer and fuel/coolant gauges are all able to be separated. You should be able to swap clear plastic covers between them without issue. Plug and play. Have fun dealing with the speedometer cable attached to the back.

Or even better, Wire in a digital speedo! Its pretty easy, like hard wiring in a radio.
