Ok so before anyone thinks I'm crazy let me explain. I live in NYC and do the alternate side of the street parking deal 4 days a week. The price of parking is moving or paying $600 a month.
Anyway I do the alternate side deal and have to sit in the car on most days 30 to 45 minutes. I like to play the radio and keep the door open so I'd like to disconnect the chime bell that goes on when the key is in the ignition
Car is a 03 Taurus SES
Just got the car
All help much appreciated

As far as I know it won't crank if you remove the chime. On my old 87 F-150 it was as simple as unplugging a little black box.

On my 97 F250 diesel I've done it without problem. I can't imagine it won't crank. There is even a stickey for it on the site but the pictures don't come up.
Someone should chime in with the right info.
