I have a 1993 Ford Taurus with a 3.0L Engine the care is giving Continuous Memory Codes 181 and 189? 181 and 189 in the manual says "Adaptive Fuel Rich limit reached at part throttle, system lean, right side.
Code 189 is the same thing but for the left side.
Any Ideas on how to correct this?

I'm taking a stab in the dark here, but you might need new injectors. It seems that something might be clogged and causing the system to run lean. Either that, or a sensor might be all gunked up and not reading the air/fuel mixture correctly. Either way, this is something that can cause damage to the engine components.

How many miles are on the car???

42,000 miles I have been also getting poor gas mileage. Could this be a factor?

I had exactly the same thing last winter. But it didn't come up too frequently.
Also I had poor mpg too. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to eliminate those factors to find it out.
I think the mixutre is out of the rich limit for this one, not the lean side.

I talked to a mechanic and said it could be the MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor). Has this happened to anyone?

I did a little looking around on those codes about an hour ago or so and what i kept finding was that usually the lean condition that causes these codes is caused by clogged injectors. Take this as you will having not experienced this before myself.
