I have a 2013 Limited Taurus with 255/45 R19's but I would like to replace them with a smaller wheel so I can have more tire to reduce road noise and impact from road imperfections/expansion joints etc. I would like to put the same wheel and tires that are on a SEL Taurus, which are 235/55 R18. I was told by my local Ford service parts guy that it would create problems for the car since the Limited was designed for R19's. Does anyone know if that is true? I'm thinking the TPMS's will be to be changed or re-calibrated, but didn't know if it would create a problem for the brakes etc. Thanks for the help!

I don't see dropping an inch in wheel size will make much a difference. It will affect your speedo etc.

You will only get % difference of 0.04.
