How do I go about changing the waterpump on my 87 wagon? it has the vulcan in it. Do I have to take out the alternator and such? Any tips would be appreciated

Take out the alternator, and I think the power steering pump bracket. Leave the pump attached to the bracket, and place it out of the way.
My 95 all I did was first loosen water pump pulley brackets with belt on. Then loosen tensioner and slip serpentine to side. Remove idler pulley and tensioner pulley. Then undo all water pump mount bolts and hose. Remove pump and put on the new one. Alternator stays on along with power steering pump. Easier to put new pump in first and then put the pulley on, to reach mounting bolts. Easy 45 minute job
