Hello.

Recently I changed out the heater core of a Ford Taurus 01 V6 3.0L. There is the metal link that goes over the heater core. Unfortunately the lever clip that holds the bottom of it was broken off. Also now the top will not hold it either. I am wondering what the purpose of this metal link it, because so far the heater seems to function perfectly.

The top of the lever is connected to the blend door shaft which controls how much heater or air is put into the car, just wondering what the bottom lever's function is(I would imagine this controls the duct or airflow) but just want to confirm that this will not affect the heating/AC of the car. I tried rigging it up several ways with no lucjk.

Thanks.

I would love to know what that arm thing does too, because I did the same thing. If it's nothing really important I can put my glovebox back on so my car is back to normal!
