i guess everyone is intitled to thier own opinions, but judgeing by all the cf hoods out there on cars not everyone thinks the way you doOriginally posted by godspunk32@May 18 2004, 07:55 AM
carbon fiber looks so cheap...On race cars it's cool. On street cars, it looks really crappy.
I like the looks of brushed aluminum...carbon fiber just looks so....plastic...

Are you saying you can do virtually anything?? I'm talking outside body parts, hood, fenders, bumpers. What ever I can pull off.Originally posted by the X@May 18 2004, 10:49 AM
if anyone needs anything in cf done email us.
After you do everthing you mentioned, you still have the weight of the metal or plastic pieces on your car. So CF will help. Every pound matters.Originally posted by 93taurusSX@May 18 2004, 11:24 PM
Yes, but with the performance/dollar ratio, weight reduction, especially replacing interior/exterior parts with lighter pieces, is not the best option in most cases.
Other than looks, you can probably get a fiberglass hood and trunk lid made for cheaper...these pieces rarely make contact with anything, so the typical "(crappily-laid) fiberglass always cracks!" argument doesn't really matter. Heck, you can get better weight reduction by changing out the stock seats with some light weight ones- in most cases you loose 40-60 lbs. per seat.
Yeah that sounds good. If that was put on, would it help with the clearance issue of putting a supercharger or turbo in?Any way you could post an estimated price of a custom hood. Like stock, but a cowl hood. (GEN IV) Thanks.

I wouldn't mind a carbon fiber-esque dash piece to overlay my rather plain looking dash kit I use for my aftermarket head unit.
