...99 Taurus and my brake light with (!)(p) comes on only when i press my brakes...

There are only 3 things that can turn that light on: 1) the ignition switch being in START; 2) the e-brake pedal NOT being fully-released; 3) the float magnet being too close to the fluid level switch in the master cylinder reservoir.
