I paid $1K for it, it has the 3.0 V6, power everything, cruise, etc. It needs a few things but not much. It has very high mileage but the trans was just replaced. I love it so far. I wish I had more time tonight to tell you all about it but I'll have to wait until the morning.

I'll also post pics.

Here is the only pic I've found so far.

The car has a few problems. It automaticly goes into a self-test mode when started. There is a bundle of wires that comes out of the fire wall and was resting on the exhaust manifold. The connector melted and the wires are frayed. Of course I moved them off the exhaust when I noticed. The car starts immidiatly and runs well. It drives well and gets fairly good gas mileage from what I can tell. I dont know what the problem is. Sometimes it doesnt idle smoothly, so maybe this is it but I have no idea. I need another Vulcan pre-96 Taurus to compare it to, so I can see where those wires are supposed to go.

The A/C works WONDERFUL, the heat works fine, etc. The Check Engine light comes on intermitantly.

This is the pic on the Auto Trader were I found it. Sorry I dont have better pics right now. As you can see its grey with grey cloth interior. The body is fair, a few scratches and dings but no major rough spots. I replaced the 3rd brake light bulbs and they're working now.

Yea, I guess since 1988s go for $1150 around here.

I've been looking for a 92-5 Taurus for several months for $1K or under and this is the best one I've found.

Even with the mileage adjustment, its still worth $2950 Retail where I live in WA. It needs less than $1K worth of work to be in great condition so in effect, I paid 1/3 of its value. I musta got screwed huh?

I love it so far, and I dont mind the high mileage. When I get a Windstar cluster, I'm going to update it to read the correct amount of miles. I love telling people I have a Taurus with over 200K, its a true testimate to the car.

79K is pretty good though, there is no substitute for a low mileage ceam-puff. Body work can be a bear, but its nice to compare when you're done.
