Car Plans For Winter...

Now that finals are over (or will be soon) for some of you, any one have plans for their cars during the winter?

So far I plan on detailing the inside of the car, shampoo the carpet (its pretty damn dirty) and wax the exterior. I need to keep up to the N2 standards. As for mods, I dont plan on doing any mods, I've got half a dozen repairs lined up, hopefully they aren't too expensive/or are covered by ford. Wish me luck.

If I have time, I would like to run better wires to my speakers since they are being fed off an aftermarket amplified signal. Hopefully I can also take some pics of my audio setup and document it.

Of course I plan on keeping mine clean

Of course, socal weather is a little better for detailing than Indy this time of year

- New tires sometime soon (trying to wait for spring so I can get a set of 16's or 17's instead)
- SHO brake upgrade (when rims come) - Yes this is a repair. the stock brakes sux0r.

Enhancements/Aftermarket:

* Replace/Fix broken rear sway bar...
* New rear brake discs....
* power steering resevoir and pump clean up...
* New PCV valve...

And hopefully more after I get it checked out....

Awesome to see all these modifications and upgrades being made, even during the winter time.

Personally, I will be having the following done within the next few months:

New connecting rod bearings, oil pan gasket

Suspension overhaul
. New KYB GR-2 struts all around
. New Moog cargo coils for the rear
. New front strut mounts and bearings
. 26mm rear sway bar with poly bushings
. Homemade SS-like front and rear strut bars

Flush the PS fluid (looks to be original at 137k)
Clean the inside of my foggy headlights
Diagnose and reinstall my PIAA fog lights
Plumb my tranny lines for my temp gauge
Plumb my oil pan for my (coming) pressure gauge

I think that's enough for now.

ditto

I'm also going to replace some weather stripping in the driver's side door, and hopefully replace all the front speakers, too.

All these mods are for 94 GL ( nicknamed the CLITaurus ...lol its a joke my lil brother made up)

Exterior: Get ALL body work done. and a repaint. Rims (17's or 18's).

Performance: Cold air intake, all new wiring, spark plugz and i cant think of anything else So if you all want to help me out on performance, let me know.

Mobile Audio/Video: Well right now I have a SONY X-PLOD head unit, wit X-PLOD door speakers, and kenwood 6x9's with a PS2 hooked up to my LEGACY 7.2" LCD monitor, and 2 12" SONY X-PLOD subs with a 760 watt amp (sony also). I plan on making another custom encloser for 2 more 12"z (MA Audio, and Audiobahn) and another amp. I also plan on puttin my new gamecube in there and hopefully be able to afford atleast 2 more LCD monitors for the headrest.

Interior: I want to paint all my interior to match my exterior and also add crushed velvet on the inside.

Well other than that I can't find out anything else I want to do, so once again, Help me out plz..thx

I'm with afi292- just trying to keep the fleet clean during Minnesota winters is hard enough while keeping up on routine maintenance. Luckily I have a heated garage at work (with running water
) so at least I can wash and wax my car and the wife's van. Not during work hours of course...

Here were the things that were fixed:
-replaced rear backglass-defogger partially worked (paid by ford esp $1200
)
-4000rpm hesitation (fixed by ME replacing CID- NOT FORD and their incompetent techs)
-SES light (bad CID)
-knock sensor code(bad CID - thinking of replacing the knock sensor just for the hell of it, since I already ordered it and have it sitting right here)
-replaced o2's (I paid my mechanic to do install them. I reset pcm, all monitors complete, awaiting mpg test)

Things looked at but not fixed:
-MAF not replaced (ford dealer being a [email protected]## about this, I also have inconsistant data from ford of what the correct values are)
-Loud groan on startup (could be an exaust shield...all ford said that it wasn't the ps pump)
-clunks from front suspension(not loud enough and they are random, so screw this)

Things I wanted to get to:
-Wash and wax the car
-clean interior
-remove intake manifold and clean the inside
-possibly remove lower intake and clean that too
-buy and install upgraded headlight wire harness
-rotate and balance tires

Whats the status of the rest of you?
