My brother has a Gen I that he recently purchased. The problem is that the car runs fine as long as it's moving, but if he gets stuck in traffic, it cuts off on him, and he has to continuously restart it and at times it jerks. What could be the problem? He just had it tuned up and we don't know what to do next.
To me it sounds like the torque convertor clutch is staying engaged so that would make it shut off when you come to a stop. Sure there are alot of other possiblities but this is a definite possiblitiy. Are you able to keep it running by switching into neutral? If so this would definitely be something to look into.
