Hello everyone,

I reinforced the clutch and did not work and screwed up my tranny cover (after a lot of smoke because of the friction again the cover).

My car: Taurus SHO Yamaha 3.0 1989 (manual Tranny)

Since Joe the mechanic here is selling a manual tranny from a Taurus 2.5 liters I got a couple of questions:

1. Did you ever try to use a cover of a 2.5 liters in a SHO 1989 (both manuals)? Does it fit?; and
2. Did you ever try to use a whole tranny from a 2.5 liters in a SHO 1989?

You need to know I am in Chile, so we do not have the Junk Yard concept (it is easier to import from eBay US than find it overhere). So no cover of SHO '89 available.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I would highly doubt it. Even if you could get it to bolt up the internals wouldn't be able to handle to power from the SHO motor. The HSC was only a 90HP/130tq and well Taurus transmissions can barely handle anything more than what they were designed for.
