I need to change the sinchronizer assembly and camshaft sensor on a 97 taurus and need to know how to get the large wiring harness out of the way. HELP!

I'm no help since I'm in the middle of the same issue. I have loosened the two bolts that hold the spark plug wires and moved it out of the way. There is a bolt visible behind that that seems to hold the wiring harness shroud. I haven't removed that yet to see if it frees up the wiring harness. i'll let you know if that helps.

still didn't get to this - too much baseball playoffs. I did get the car an emissions test and it passed no problem with the cam shaft synco error code ...

I did mine when I had the upper intake off, and it seemed easier. I had the intake off for other reasons though. Once the intake is off, you can move that harness around pretty easily.

Taking the intake off adds about an hour (remove and install) to the job.
