hey, im going to build a cold air intake for my taurus, 95 gl, im just wondering if anyone has any pics of the filter in the fenderwell, as long as any tips and such....ive read the one in the mods section, but the pics didnt work for me.....any help would be greatly appreciated. What size filter should be used btw?
Thanks again

P.S. What are the real advantages it gives over the traditional airbox thingy?

You can get some guidance here. That's my setup, but it's on a V8, so yours will be a little different. Even the smallest K&N cones will work wonderfully. In fact, don't go too big or you will run out of room in the fenderwell. I would suggest starting out using some flexible dryer duct tubing first to fab something up. If you don't like it, you can use it as a study model for future revisions.

The main advantage of a cone filter in the fender is that hopefully you will have eliminated some restriction. That will help the engine inhale easier, resulting in a slight increase in power. When I say slight, I mean MAYBE 5 HP. It may feel like more, though, because you will greatly improve the throttle response, making the car more "punchy."

On my '93 I just got rid of the horn outside in the fenderwell. The GEN 2s have a very good pre-TB intake already. Any mods are for sound and bling. I do have a 4" hose that goes to the front bumper but it just acts as a funnel for junk on the road.
