We'll I finally got my friends scanner to work, and of course tested it out. Here's the pics from installing the tranny cooler and the CAI.
Enjoy.
And check out the pics from the swaybar install in the suspension section.

Pipe cut and routed and the filter taking a pose. Silicone turbo hose connectors and 5/8" stainless steel smooth band lined hose clamps (no cutting the connector and a bit better than only a 1/2" band)

Here's how it all looks.

The filter in the wheel well and mounted as high as I could get it to prevent hydrolocking in the FREAK occurance that it actually rains here in CA. :D

Here's a diagram of how I installed the tranny cooler. The tube that returns the fluid is above the cyan line. Normally this tube is connect to a rubber hose that then connects to the inlet on the tranny. I pulled off the rubber hose and spliced in right there. Works perfect and no leaks.

Here's how it looks attacted to the air dam. Those are the hoses of course. Works pretty good too in this place. Good call SHOZ123 :thumb:

Another shot from the front. And I know all you mid-westers are jealous, what with your rain and snow. Madness. :D j/k

Awesome dude! Gotta love those CAI and tranny coolers! I've got both(more of a WAI really) and I must say, for a Gen1(and a Vulcan at that!), my car feels pretty powerful and the transmision just snaps through the gears. The fact that I'm running synthetic fluid in there might be helping. However, I noticed more of a difference after I added the tranny cooler. How does yours feel now that you've done this?

Anyways, Great job! :thumb: My car looks like a hackjob! Hell! There's a ziptie on my lower bumper holding the cooler lines up! :what:

The CAI looks awesome...what did you use for that?

I'm probably going to be putting in a trans cooler, once my girlfriend's dad gets his new house/garage set up after his divorce...I'm also doing a crapload of service to the car at that time...

Anyone got pics of the cooler installed in the bumper? Looks like you have the near identical unit that you have, and Im just trying to figure out where and how to mount it. Also, did you need to add any tranny fluid after install and how much was it?

I mounted my tranny cooler above the 6 holes in the center of the front air dam. There is just enough clearance with the radiator for it to fit and works really well because as you're driving the air is going down, out and under the car through those holes, and now through the cooler. Then I cut out the webs or whatever you want to call them so the holes in the front air dam, instead of 6 is just 1 big hole. I used 4 small bolts and various washers and some locktite. It's not going anywhere.
You will have to add a little bit of tranny fluid. After all you are adding volume to the system. Not much though, about a pint I'd say. Just start the car up and let it warm up and then check the level and add appropriately.

EDIT: As for the CAI, I got some 3" silicone tube from a guy on ebay that I cut down to make the connectors. Same material as store bought connectors, I just bought a 1 foot chunck of it. The hose connectors came from Mc-Master Carr. They are 5/8" band stainless steel lined hose clamps. There are no screw threads in contact with the silicone so it doesn't cut it (that's what the "lined" part of them means. I'll get a part number if anyone wants it. Finally I bought my filter off of 4filters.com. Internet company out of LA and all they do is K&N filters. Pretty cheap too, 45 bucks shipped, and I got one of the larger ones that will fit. Then I used a 90* exhaust elbow because I couldn't find an aluminum one, but I'll probably change it to stainless steel (eBay again). And finally I bought the actual ducting from Air Flow Systems Inc. They aim more at the diesel crowd, but the 3" aluminum tubing was only about 7 dollars a foot shipped.

A belt or cummerbund for the Muffler Man? :p

Makeshift fan belt?

Disciplinary tool for errant children? (probably dozens of uses there!)

A necktie to wear to a tech convention?
