I am having a little trouble with the O2 sensors (120 miles to the tank not good at all
). i have a 91 sable 3.8, and i was woundering how to by pass the O2 sensors. I currently dont have to funds to purchase the sensors so i need to bypass them in the mean time to save some gas.

Well I dont think there is a way to sucessfully bypass them thay do control the fuel mixture that it is getting. If you install something with a fixed value it will not select rich or lean. Since this you may do more harm then good bypassing them. If money is the problem im sure you could scout the junkyard for a used one that may work better.

I normally get about 250 or so. a guy from autozone said it was the O2 sensors and when i ran the diagnostics (using a paper clip to get the check engine light to flash the errors)
Here are some of the errors
157 (R,M) Mass Air Flow signal is/was low or grounded - MAF
174 (M) Oxygen sensor was slow in switching Single, Right or Rear HO2S - Fuel control
181 (M) Fuel system was lean at part throttle Single, Right or Rear HO2S
189 (M) Fuel system was lean at part throttle - Left or Front HO2S

then there was an error with the tranny (of course) 3rd gear failure
