I've done a really dumb thing and broke a bolt off on the fuel pump mount on the LH cylinder head of my 2012 Taurus SHO. Then I did another dumb thing and tried to get it out with a speed out and broke the speedout. Now I'm seeing that this part, that can't cost more than 50$ to manufacture, is only sold as a part of the cylinder head assembly. I'm not about to buy a brand new cylinder head for almost 600$. I'm trying to source a used head as we speak. My question is, has anyone ever had this issue? What is the technical name for the part I'm describing? Am I best off going to get a new piece fabricated or is this something I could find elsewhere? Many thanks in advance for any response.

Gen 5/6 SHO is a GDI engine. The OP is talking about the high pressure (like 10,000+ psi) camshaft actuated mechanical fuel pump that sits on the bank 1 head.

Call up machine shop and explain problem. See if they can drill out the broken bolt. Good luck.
