I am working on Sis-in-laws 2000 SE.
ABS light was on for some time (Weeks/Months) before red brake warning came on and stayed on.

Adjusted rear brakes and emergency brake cable.
Replaced front pads, and turned 1 rotor.
Bled brakes.
Checked Park Brake switch, it functions correctly.
replaced master cylinder, resevoir, and level switch.
Bled brakes.

Light is still on, and I'm running out of ideas. I was told that the ABS light being on would not affect the red warning light, because they were seperate electrical systems.

I can only guess that there is a short, or that the two systems are not seperate electrically.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Old thread, but did you ever figure this out? Wondering if it was the ABS control module mounted on the pump. I have a 2000 with traction control and the red light is on constantly, and the traction control and ABS don't work (no ABS lights).

Have a control module from a wreck and just getting ready to change it out. Looks like a knuckle buster to get at the 6 Torx-head screws.
