Took the '03 Taurus SE into my local Ford dealer WED. They checked out the car for a blinking Transaxle light.
They decided the valve body in the transmission needs to be changed. Seems odd to me with only 11,000 miles-but I guess anything can die an early death. Of course, they didn't have the part in stock and now it will be Tuesday before I can get it back. Hope this takes care of the problem.
