OK I am confused again, I have cool blues 9007 on my 96 GL.

I just bought silver stars. But before I fix it, I was wondering if
silver stars will give me much more brighter lights (not just cool color, but brightness) with the stock harness.

Or option 2 is, stick to the cool blues (return the silver stars) & get a better harness. A dude here is selling a harness made by matrix or something...

I dont have money for both the harness & silver stars.

You already got the silverstars don't you? I say just install it and see how much of a difference you get from the Cool Blues - if you're satisfied with the results, then be done with it. If not, consider getting the harness.

-Oh yeah, I don't think saving up for the $35 harness won't take that much time either, if you are really insterested

If I open those, autozone said they wont take it back.

I am looking for brightness. if cool blues will be much more brighter then I am keepin 'em.

Also, those folks with headlight harness. Is it a pita to put one, or does it clutter up??

The silverstars won't need a new harness. They are just a much better design and more efficient, giving you better and brighter light. I love mine. Even with all the street lights, I can see whether or not mine are on. If anything, just plug 1 in and leave the other as a cool blue. Side-by-side comparison. If you don't like it, take it back and I'm sure someone will grab the other on here.

well, you guy have to choose between the two options I gave.

Stock harness & silver stars

or

A/f market harness & Cool blues (about a 1 mo old).

I am looking for brightness, not cool white color.

So whats it gonna me. This is on a 96 GL

Well, like I said, you already have the silverstars, why go through the trouble of returning those then waiting to get the harness?

Stick with the silverstars now if you are forced to choose from the two. It's not like its all that difficult to upgrade to harness in the future anyway right

The silverstars are a good improvement over other bulbs period. But the Harness will make any bulb better....

Since I have to choose, I say get the harness. Installation is easy and every bulb you use from now on will be better than stock. And start saving for some SilverStars to add to it.

But... my honest suggestion is to keep the SilverStars in the box and save your money for the harness and use the CoolBlues until you can install both at once. Then toss the CoolBlues in a drawer for the future.

The harness will not cause any unwanted electrical problems. It will improve the effectiveness of the lighting because there is less resistance in the wiring.

The SilverStar/Harness combo is one of the best improvements I have made to my Taurus. (it may be the only "improvement", everything else is just a "mod") <_<

Get the harness. I installed my harness onto one of the headlights and left the other one in the stock harness for a side by side comparison. Definitely an improvement on low and high beams with the upgraded harness. Of course, I would recommend you stay away from the cheaper harnesses (<$40) b/c they usually use Chinese or Taiwanese relays.

I was using Xenon White Bulbs until last night whent he drivers side bulb was really dim and looked like it was out, so I picked up a new set od Silverstars and installed them today, and the drivers side still looks Dim? should i buy a new harness and replace them, and where can i get a new harness?

Did you happen to check the socket before installing the silverstars? I had those "xenon" bulbs for about a year and the driver's side socket was literally melted inside to the point that the plastic was charred black! Not good. Hence another reason why I had to get an upgraded harness

Getting a better wiring harness will not change the fact that the point of maximum resistance, and therefore maximum heat, in the headlight circuit is going to be the connection between the headlamp bulb and the harness socket.

You will still have the problem with a burning connector piece on the new wiring harness when you use a bulb that is of higher than typical wattage for a 9004 and 9007 type headlamp. The connection leads on a 9007 and 9004 bulb are small and they get hot with the normal wattages as it is.

Plus, you still have to factor the lamp's efficiency in generating and casting usable light. The Silverstars are bound to be better in this regard.

I recommend sticking with the Silverstars and not doing any modifications to the electrical system. - Reinhart

Ok ....all this talk about silverstars is getting me curious. I'm looking for the best looking headlights. I have cool Blue in my Gen4 and they are NOT "cool blue"! They don't like up any different if you ask me. Anyway, I'm looking for really nice and different almost Beamer like lights. You know what I mean I'm sure. Can someone tell me what is the best type out there?
