Sealed box.

A cardboard box wouldn't hold the car. You need a big wooden crate.

Edit: oh a sub box. Well think about these things... what kind of sub are you thinking of using? what size? what kind of music do you listen to? how much power are you feeding it?

it is a sub. www.respl.com

subs name is the SE

im assuming you are looking at the 12, so for that one in particular a 2 cube sealed box is going to get you just about a .707 QTC (.712) .

but that will change drastically if you are thinking about the 12 or 15 instead, teh vas on those things is severly different.

that thing would work pretty well in a vented enclosure as well, but SQ would suffer (would be pretty minimal with this sub, but still audible)

edit: doh!
alex you must have edited right as i quoted you. my bad

On the Gen II's (I know it's a 2000) an awesome idea would be to take out the spare, cut a hole in the spare compartment cover. Put plexiglass in the hole and put a 15" sub in it. Just my opinion and if spares weren't important I'd do it.

its a speaker, not a trim level

(im assuming he is talking about the RE driver. if not yall can all call me names.

Ooops. My bad. I should have read more closely.
I have had a bandpass, and although it was loud and low the sq was not that great and the bass hits were not accurate. I went to a sealed box and although it is not quite as boomy, the sq and accuracy of the subs more than make up for it.
when i was starting the thread i was kinda in a hurry i forgot to mention. i have 2 12" audiobahn subs with a 800 watt pioneer 2 ch amp.
ok, looks like i was wrong... my bad guys

for audiobahn subs i would still go with around 2 cubes sealed. that oughta give you a decent Q, depends on which model. i would suggest a bigger box if you have the room, but 2 cubes should do ya right.
