I have two questions if you would be so kind. I downloaded the transmission repair manual from the site. There is a "spring retainer" on the main regulator / Main regulator boost valve. It appears the cupped part faces toward the outside of the valve body. Mine was the opposite when I took it part. It seems to me the opposite would be correct and serve as a better spring seat. Should it face as the manual indicates or as mine was? Reference manual page 116 bore number 37

Also the manual shows a clip, spring, then solenoid regulator valve (#13 in bore #38 page 116 as well) I am betting Ford updated as mine has no clip but a round plug spring then valve. It appears they eliminated the clip and replaced it with a round plug like they use on the end of the valve bores. Am I OK there?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. I sure don't want to do this again for a small mistake. Thanks to all in advance.
