I noticed the rear end of my 2008 FWD Taurus seems to sit a little low. For my job I need to carry somewhere between 200 and 300 pounds worth of parts and books, etc. I was wondering about replacing the springs with something a little more heavy duty...... the first thing that comes to mind is replacing the rear springs with the AWD springs.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Would AWD springs fit? Would this make the rear end sit freakishly high if the trunk was empty and the vehicle unladen?

Does anyone know if the gen 5 springs had any problems or issues? Weakening? Breaking?

My 2008 has developed the same problem - put an adult in the back, and the car bottoms out if you hit a bump. having it checked next week - will keep you posted.
