How much des a Trany flush for an automatic really help?.....and after doing it once, would it be normal to do it again after using it everyday, driving about 150 miles per day?

Its more of a safeguard than anything.. The FWD transaxles run hot, and can easily scorch the fluid, which lessens its ability to lubricate.

If you don't already, get an extra trans cooler like this:

A trans flush should probalby be done every 20-25 thousand miles with a good trans cooler. Longer even with a good synthetic trans fluid like Amsoil. If you do all highway driving, you could extend those figures even more.

Flushing the transmission will make it last a lot longer and will save you money in the long run...Some here will "flush" the fluid themselves by disconnecting one of the cooler lines and pouring new fluid in while old fluid gets pushed out (much more detailed instructions can be found by doing a search. I took my car to my Ford dealer who did a BG transmission flush($90 w/coupon) which by the time you account for the time, effort and materials (fluid, flushing chemicals, etc.), paying the $90 was worth it to me. If you take your car somewhere, make sure that they actually flush the transmission and not a "transmission service" which generally means just dropping the pan, changing the filter and changing only a quarter of the fluid (what's in the pan).
