Sometime when I turn my car off I can hear and see all the gauge needles shaking for a few seconds. When I turn back on the car I notice that the information display on the dash resets everything (Avg MPG, temperature, trip miles, etc). Everything displays like if I have hit the "reset" button. Could this mean my battery needs to be replaced?

Is this on your 2007?
If so I would take it to the dealer and have the system checked. In MOST cases with something like this there will be some Codes in the Body Control Module.
Or if you have access to a scanner that can read BCM codes that should give you an indication of whats going on.

Just had this happen to me in my 04.....exactly what you had happen freak.....did you ever figure it out? BTW - brand new battery this past Dec...

Dashes usually mean it has something to do with PATS... It was in my focus. The needle shake is odd though, I have seen vehicles that do it (Not just fords) and just dismissed it as some sort of check that the guages were going through.
