I have experienced very brief slipping of the transmission on 4 occassions. The first three were on a long trip from Michigan to Tennessee. It was raining, and it happened once in OH, once in KY, and once in TN. All three times it was wet, so I thought the car was hydroplaning for a brief second (litteraly a half second), then caught traction with a thud.

Today (about 3 weeks after the last trip) it happened again, but on dry roads, so I am now thinking the tranny is the cause. The car is a 3.0L SOHC, with 92k on it. I had the tranny fluid changed at the dealership about 5k ago.

Any idea on the cause? The car seems to drive well other than this.

Trans fluid was replaced / flushed by Ford dealer about 7-8k ago. Fluid is full and bright red. Seems to run fine other than the occasional slip.
