Mine is pretty beaten up, so i figured i may as well replace it found one at advance auto parts for 15.99, so i figured ill replace it. My question is, is there any specific way to go about this? Thanks! heres mine,
I actually removed the link and the rest of the assembly when making room for a water pump replacement. That's when I saw the rubber isolator was breaking down.
The bolt securing the firewall end comes out easily. At rest, there is no tension on the link.
The other end (the horizontal bolt) uses an unusual nut. It looks like a one-time use nut that is intended to lock onto the bolt and be resistant to movement by vibration. You might want to get a new one before starting. Otherwise, it should be an easy replacement.
