I almost had a clean parts car for $50.00 with a bad 3.8 and no title. My cousins freind owns a repair shop and the Taurus was dropped off for repair some time ago and never picked up. Since its been longer than 30 days, he is legally allowed to do what he wants to get rid of it. Unfortunatly, he HAD IT HAULED TO THE SCRAP YARD! The only thing wrong with the car was the 3.8 would not run. It would turn over but not start. I just wanted the body parts, and I was going to remove any other usefull item and then have it hauled off but oh well. It even had new tires on the 15" alloys. uhhggg!
My 1993 GL is running great, it just rolled over 227,000 miles. I may be going on a construction job and if I do, I'm going to have quite a bit of work done to it within the next 3-4 months. A new drivers side drive axel, pass. side brake caliper, 2000+ 16" alloy wheels/tires, and the slight coolant leak repaired (loses about a cup of coolant every 300-400 miles). I will also replace the spark plugs and order a Windstar gauge cluster. I may pick up my neighbors 1992 Taurus L (3.0) as a parts car, the transaxel has failed and the front bumper is destroyed. The hood, head lamp bracket, etc are all good, and its the same color as my 1993 GL.
