I have a 96 taurus with everything including the stock alram system. When I bought it and parked it in my driveway the alarm just randomly went off. I thought at first it was actually something going on. However it just kept going off anywhere from fifteen minutes to an hour. Does anyone know whats up?

The alarm brain might be bad, or your remote may be bad. Try changing the battery in your remote. Also...are you sure that someone isn't hitting the remote to screw with you, like wife/gf/kids/friends, etc???

replace your hood pin switch....common issue

Might not be the switch, but the gromet on the hood which presses it down.

No, I don't think anyone's playing with the buttons. And I don't think the batteries are dying because everything else works fine, locks, trunk. As for the pin or gromet where is that located? So I can check it out. Also how hard would it be to replace?

I took a quick look under the hood and found the pin and then looked at the gromet. Sure enough the gromet wore out and there's a puncture in it.
