you would have to block the pipe to the box so the air would come from under the hood. otherwise you would be bypassing the filter comepletely.

ok, i was thinkin the other day, since i got a vulcan and there are very little perform. mods for my car, i was wondering about the intake. is it possible the cut open the back of the box so that the air filter is exposed on the back side of the air box? i want to chop off a 6x8 section and remove the piping to the air silencer. here are some divinci style pics of what i want to do. is this plosible?
