I recently started having problems with the AC on my 97 Taurus. It would be blowing cold for a while then it would be almost warm for a while. It seemed to be fluctuating all over the place. I had the freon checked. It was good. I was told it might be the blend door actuator so I had that changed out. Now it is even worse. Hardly cools at all. Before it would cool really cold most of the time. What could the mechanic possibly have done to cause it to quit working at all? Also my son noticed that the cooling fan was cutting of like every 30 seconds. While the fan was running, the ac compressor would run but as soon as the fan shut off the compressor would go off.Can someone please help. I live in southeast Texas where it is always hot. I need my AC.

Assuming there is nothing wrong with the AC, since there is no heat gain at the evaporator (no cooling of the cabin air), the compressor cycling sounds normal.
