Abs Light On Factory Stereo

Has anyone found a solution for this little problem.

It seems Ford had implemented another great idea of putting an ABS indicator right into the stereo on the 2004 models.

I haven't pulled apart deck yet to determine if I could bypass, or relocate the entire circuit somehow.

For one, I just got the car shipped to me two days ago, and two I don't have the deck removal tools. I hear you can get them from any Wal-mart?? Although, I'm stationed in England, maybe someone can hook a brother up..

This belongs in the stereo section...but the last I heard there was no way to yet bypass this ABS light in the 2004 model.

Thats pretty messed up.

ABS and stereo are not even inter-related, unless you count the CLLLLLLUNK CLUNK CLUNK CLLLLLLUNNKKKKK sound of the ABS as music. German tekno or something? haha

Yeah I have heard something like that. I think it was engineered by that guy who took the job at GM 2 weeks later at twice the pay! :lol2: I have always had a problem with the proprietary stereo systems. Now they want to make it totally impossible to put in a system!! That is so lame!
I think its to deter thiefs....honestly, do you think not having abs is going to scare anyone away?

I'm sure there will be a kit to bypass it soon. As for you if the indicator is on maybe there is something wrong with the abs... check your fuses, and have the abs sensors checked out. Its probably something really dumb.
I know the 2004 Bull's have the PASS AIRBAG OFF light in the Climate Controls, but on my rental, I remember the ABS light on the dash.

Just a way to make money. Well, give it another year.... CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT...... 300 Million Dollar Settlement, Lawyers get 299 Million, the rest is split up evenly between the 4 million members. Wow, I can look forward to that cool $0.25!!!

no prob with the ABS itself... Just the indicator is in the wrong spot!!! And, if I take it out, it will disable the ABS!! Uhh.. Don't need to do that..

here's a pic

Ummm I don't see ABS lights... just that passenger air bag light.
Yeah...i think you're thinking of srs, supplemental restraint system. You could probably relocate that entire light. I haven't done a stereo in a new Bull, but I'm sure that light will be integrated into any install kit. They integrated the rear defrosters into our Gen III kits, so I'm sure that the SRS system light will be put into a HU kit.

Also, you could probably order the removal tools from jc whitney or soemthign and have them ship internationally...

All I see is a light that says "Pass Airbag Off."
