I think I may have found a fix for the dreaded "curse". The "curse" is when the evaporator drain seal lets water back into the passenger compartment and soaks the insulation and eventually the floor carpet. Some people have tried siliconing around the drain outlet but what I did was to cut a 3" piece of bicycle inner tube an slip it over the drain spout. It fits great and now the water is directed away from the firewall.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Thanks for this information. I've only noticed my car leaking there once. Normally, I keep it in the garage, so there's not many chances when I get it wet - unless I drive in a rainstorm or wash the car.
