Get a picture from further back.

Hard to tell if the unibody suffered any damage. Some of the stuff on the doors, to the back may buff out? Hard to see. Up front, you'll want a new bumper cover, light, fender.

Barb sliced nicely through the fender, impressive!

That's when you need an on-board wide-angle video camera, recording in loop on a SD card.
Sometimes is better NOT to avoid the hit - I guess that guy didn't stop and you are now good to pay?

First, get Firefox. :)

Secondly, makes me sad...that's the color of my car! Did you make any contact with the other car at all? If so, did you get a police report at the scene? That should always be the first step at a crash scene. You'll need it for the insurance fight.

If this was all from you hitting something, see if your insurance company will allow you to file it under comprehensive. When I hit a deer, it was covered minus my deductible. I'd estimate the repairs in the neighborhood of $1800-2100 if you allow a shop to do all of the work. I'd recommend picking up a front bumper cover (check the foam reinforcement behind it) and a fender and mirror. Install yourself and just pay someone to paint it if you can't find a matching color. You may be able to wetsand the light to acceptability.

Is that packing tape along the hood?

Hope you're OK though.
