Is there a common component failure known to exist in the 96-99 Taurus a/c systems? I had mine recharged and it blew ice cold air for about two weeks before it leaked out. I'm thinking maybe the condenser is rotted/corroded, but I haven't had a chance to really check it out yet. I don't want to keep buying parts and guessing. I was hoping someone would be able to help me troubleshoot.

If you leak out in two weeks it should be a pretty good leak. Look for oily residue on all your fittings. Also follow your lines and see if they may have been rubbing somewhere. If you don't find anything you may want to put in another can that has a UV dye in it and buy the special glasses and light to help find the leak. Some shops offer a free A/C check and might be able to find the leak with an electronic sniffer. Some say you can mix up some dish detergent and water and brush it on all your fittings, but I never had much luck with that unless it is really a big leak.
