99 Ford Taurus / hot car, won't start

My Taurus won't start when it's hot. It also dies occasionally when hot. I replaced the plugs and wires, and the problem persists. I went to Auto Zone and had it tested the guy seemed very novice, and he concluded it's the coil. I was wondering if that sounds right? The car runs like a champ until it get's hot.
When I say hot, I mean it's normal running temperature.

I wouldn't buy any more parts. The next step is to check spark when it won't start. You can buy a spark tester for under $20 and do it yourself. If you have good spark, check fuel pressure next.

Mmm, check your IAC valve (Upper left on the upper intake manifold). Sounds like it went out.
Bingo. Checking this and the MAF is a great way to start.

And a novice at Autozone? I can't believe that! (insert sarcastic eye-roll here) I never trust anything they say in my area. Very rare to find someone who knows what they're doing at Autozone.
