As soon as I walked in the door, I had to post this...

Just filled up after 230.2 miles on the trip odometer, and put in 6.5 gallons of gas to fill it... had to kind of stuff the last .05 gallons in.

I was tired so I just used my calculator to do the MPG... WHAT?!

Must have made an error... ran the numbers a second time. To my amazement, 35.38 mpg.

Latest best, was 27.2 SINCE THEN:

Used some MAF sensor cleaner and cleaned out MAF. Cleaned out the throttle body (REALLY dirty), drain and refilled trannie (not flushed), refilled with 2 bottles of Lucas, and filled to SOP levels.

Made the switch to synthetic oil.

Advance has been running a great deal on 5 quarts of Castrol Edge w/Syntec (previously called Syntec) and a K&N filter, for $28. (27 and change).

This was first run out with a clear baseline tank fill. Wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself.

Wish I could remember where I bought that last tank of gas :) Hmmmm.... think it was Quik Trip...

:D

I constantly get between 28-30MPG in my 2000 FFV vulcan, I live in a rural area though so constant speeds of 55-60mph on the streets and about 70 on the freeway , these motors can be very efficient!
