My 97 has the same issue. the female socket is corrupt, and it eventually melts and
corrodes the spade contact on the relay. SO far, i have just kept changing the relay.
The only real long term solution is replace the female spade connector in the relay
box. I am not sure that is even possible. The other way is to cut the wires and
put in a new relay socket and external relay

but it still works right so i can put a new relay in that socket and the cooling fans will continue to work??

i don't want to have the cooling fans rewired to a switch

and i have no idea to why my vent blower is suddenly not working it worked this morning when i put the windows down unless it is tied in to that relay that was removed
