Bought a 98 se comfort w/ front disc and back drum(no ABS). Changed front disc and now have a hissing noise that sounds like it is coming from the dash when applying brakes. Changing the rear shoes today. Fluid okay. Please let me know as my daughter will be driving to college soon, Thanks!

Under dash you have vacuum lines that go to the vent-A/C doors.

I ended up finding a bad brake cylnder on the back. Fixed that. after we thought we were done, i tried the brakes again and got a whistling noise from around the brake booster. I am assuming this is a tattle-tale of air in the lines, so, we then bled the back brakes in order. Then the front brakes. the fluid was terrible!!!! Now nice clean fluid from all sides. The whistle and shhhh are gone and the brakes work fine.
I hope this helps others. Yes we bled the brakes in proper order. LOL We also found a bad sway bar link on the drivers side rear. Wow, be sure to check those!!! Thanks.
