I work with this guy who thinks his Neon is the fastest thing in town. So I'm gonna school this asshat next time I hear him talking it up. I wanted to give myself every possible advantage... so I bought this CAI system from Checker. Keep in mind, it is designed for a 96-99 Civic. Here's how it looks:

and another view

It doesn't fit as it was designed to, it isn't straight inside it's rubber thingy (
) but it is secure.

I am sure that if we get into racing our cars... I'll kick his a**!

But my car sounds mean as hell now!

I even got a few ppl to turn their heads when I punched it to WOT.

Looks good! How does the battery fit in there? Does it move around and stuff?
The battery does move around... but it was more like picking it up then anything... the negative terminal was a b**** to get like that... there isn't much slack in the wiring and I had to reroute some of it. but both the tubing and the battery aren't goin anywhere unless I hit a MAJOR pothole or something.

OK I'm Confused, why do you call it a CAI Cold Air Intake when it is still sucking Hot Air from under the Hood?? why not run a hose to down under the bumper to get good outside air ?? Is the air under the hood actually cooler than if it comes from inside the fender ?
Confusion of terms. Thanks for setting me straight.

looks nice i like it, i got a few questions tho, how long is that tubing from the bend on and over all length. i have a 3.8 in my 93 and i have a diff set up then urs and it would help me to see if it would work on mine. the other is what is the diameter of the tubing? also where did u get the intake ebay? thanks for ur help
I would guesstimate it being about two feet after the bend, the tubing is 3 inches. I bought it at a a local auto parts store (Checker, back east I think they're Advantage). BTW it sounds REALLY good!
