I am putting in new front struts/coils and mounts on a 95 wagon. Do I need to seperate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle and take the steering knuckle out? Or can I just leave in the knuckle and pull the strut up out of the knuckle while its still attached to the drive axle? Would rather do this the easiest possible way. The haynes manual says take the steering knuckle completely out (i.e. undo tie rod and ball joint and pull hub off axle with puller. Then on the internet Ive seen where people say to just pull strut out of knuckle while its still hooked to the axle. What is the correct/easiest way? Thanks

Buy a haynes or clymers manual for pics, there is plenty in there to look at. Its just that it seems that the manuals have alot of steps that you dont need to do or they say you need a "special" tool when all you have to do is whack it with a mallet (i.e. tie rod end seperator tool to take tie rod end of knuckle when everyone says to just pound it off with a hammer)
