94 GL wagon, in great shape. I can't get used to the feeling that at 65mph the car never feels like its in total free overdrive. I know the car after a year. Its not a torque monster but now that I'm letting my kids drive it just seems like the gearing is so odd for such a massive whale.

Gets fine gas mileage, new cat convertor, its not a performance issue, more of a sense that where is the top end on this car? It will go easily 75mph, but give it a minor hill and we're talking truck lane! One has to master the granny pace.

Can't sell it now that its on the USA's Most Least Stolen vehicle list, guess I will be leaving the windows open from now on.

It's probably because the speeds on the tranny are equally spaced (compared to GMs) and overdrive is just 4th gear. The powerband is around 2000-3000 RPMs. I'm assuming you have the 3.0L Vulcan since I doubt you have a Duratec like your profile says. Usually on hills, it's best to kick it out of overdrive and use 3rd.

I have the 3.8L and its still a dog up here.
