Does anyone know if either of these vehicles ever had this option on the rear seat? I am wanting to get more SPL in the cab and I've made some progress with the rear deck cover but if I could get a fold down seat in the back that would be awesome. I can post some pics of my mods in case anyone else with gen 2's want more SPL in the cabin.

None of the sedans of that era had folding seats. Only the wagons had the fold down seats and they won't interchange with the sedans. You can use the G3/G4 folding seats, but you need to cut the metal structure behind the seat because there are three crossbars between the seat and trunk.
