Maybe I'm just a n00b, maybe im crazy, or maybe just stupid, but here's my question:

Is there a silencer cone on the 91's?? (non SHO) I followed the instructions on how to remove it, but when I took the cap off, there was nothing there. There IS however a metal something that is inbetween the cap and the hose, I was thinking this was the cone, but I, to tell the truth, have no friggin clue.

The mod article you saw was for the 3.8. The silencer for the 3.0 is attached to the air box between it and the fender. It's attached to the inside fender with one screw if I remember correctly. It's VERY easy to remove, 30 seconds, literally. The metal thing is just some wire mesh inside your maf to prevent big things from getting sucked in your engine. I wouldn't remove it. I doubt it's blocking that much air...

I have that thing between the airbox and fender along with the silencer in the air box lid. I guess there's two silencers on the Essex.

I don't have the wire mesh thing. Weird.

Thanks Adam, I'm gonna work on getting that removed once it warms up a bit. Iowa is a cold friggin state.
