so i spent this weekend installing my component set and changing my entire stereo set up again. in the three days i was home i managed to change my stereo a total of 3 times :p . i will have to host the pictures later because i am tired and still covered in fiberglass shavings, but here is a teaser of my 8"s in my doors. goodbye 5x7's, hello HUGE woofers :D . oh yeah, we had to build the door out 2 inches to make them fit  , its still not completed because i had to leave home to get back to school, but they should be finished in a few weeks.

ok... apparently you dont get a teaser since it wont let me upload the pic. so whenever i get time to upload the pics i will post them. believe me, 8"s in the doors looks SCHWEET!!

I can't wait to do mine. I have a set of Audiobahn ASIC63 component set it is a 6 1/2", 4" and a 1" tweeter I am going to take the plastic speaker gill/cubby hole and cut it apart and make a custom encloser for them.

cool. I was looking into getting some 8" woofers, probably seas or scanspeak, so I could cross my 6.5"s over a bit higher, but then I'd have to get some more/different crossovers or change my amp setup and I'm not too crazy about doing that just yet.

ok, here are a few pics that i just uploaded, lets see if this works...

first off, here is a pic of me cutting the stock door to make room for the 8, followed by a pic of the door cut apart.

next is a pic of the trim rings and the speaker sitting in the door. the build out is huge, 2" not counting the lip on the speaker.

and the last picture today... the most beautiful amp ever created :D

after we did all the glasswork and whatnot, and installed the doors and the speakers we found a crucial mistake... we couldnt shut the doors! we accidently glassed where we ran into interference with the dash, but we are going to get it all done right and it should hopefully be looking pretty in about another week or two. ill keep updating it on here.

Those would look so much better if they were flush mounted. Just some thing to think about.

Doubt flush mounting is gonna happen. How deep are those 8"s in comparison to the thickness of the door. Maybe if you don't wanna roll down your window or something...

Congrats on getting that in there.... stole one of my ideas... kinda :p I think you're nuts though.... there's gonna be more speaker than interior space  Can't wait to see the end results. B)

Flush mounting them wouldn't make them sit deeper in the door all you would have to do is add a ring around the sub. I will take good pics when I do my doors.
