The other day on a parking lot another g2 bull was patked next too mine in the Wal-Mart parking lot. It was a green Taurus. I had to stop and admire it for a minute, but I found something odd about it. The front and back Ford symbols were different. Instead of the blue w/ white writing on them, they were silver engraved emblems that said Ford 4.5 on them. It just wondered if the Taurus was ever produced with a 4.5l engine.

hehe..

The Ford symbal insert fell off leaving the oval there. I think the 4.5 has something to do with the size of the emblem.

I am glad that I am not the only one that admires cars in parking lots.

Every time I do that, like if I see a nice Taurus/Sable/SHO or Mustang, Diane gets all panicky because she thinks the owner will get pissed. Maybe they will, but I think they'd appreciate me complimenting their car. I think.
i know what you mean...well, what if they do get pissed? are they really gonna do anything because some one decided to admire there car? i highly doubt it but there are those crazy people out there. I'm thinking that fordaspiregv is right and that the emblem...just fell off, but maybe theres one of those 1 of 1 bulls.

Rats, I was hoping maybe it was a 4.5l Taurus. I wrote down the lisence plate just incase, so I could contact the owner and make an offer on it.

The fact that none of the hardcore Taurus lovers who know everything there is to know about the Taurus ever mentioned it is good enough proof for me. It's a cool thought, but if a 3.4 V8 can barely be squeezed into a SHO, a 4.5...? Not very feasible. That sounds like too much engine for that little engine bay. *shrug*

I have seen this happen on Escorts and other cars. What happens is that the oval stays but the insert that has the blue Ford emblem falls off. You are left with the oval with no Ford lettering.

Wal-Mart may not be the best place to look at cars.

I sell a lot of Ford emblems, and the deal is that 4.5 is the size of the emblem. It's 4.5 inches long. I took a couple a part and they all have FORD with the size engraved in the plastic.

The biggest engine in the Taurus was the 3.8L V6 then the 3.4L V8 then the 3.2L V6 then the 3.0's.
