Okay I know now, only after I flush the coolant do I learn that the 3.8L starts having problems with headgaskets blowing out. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket head gasket that will actually work instead of this stock gasket. I'm just wondering if it's a defect found only in the gasket. Please help the gasket has allready been replaced once and is going out again.

I had thought the Ford gasket was a redesign to resolve the issue of blowing prematurely. I'm not positive on this, but way back when the problem started to surface, I thought they redesigned it.

I've also heard Fel-Pro gaskets work well on these engines.

Yeah, I heard about using the Fel-Pro gaskets as well. I have also heard of people using the ones with graphite that is meant for the Supercoupes in their 3.8's.

The minivan is the first year of the Windstar back in 1995-96 got the same 3.8l. I've read somewhere that the Supercoupe got a different headgasket because it's using a supercharger (one of the changes the Ford engineers made when they were implementing forced induction onto the 3.8l design)
