Thanks for the quick response. So the hose with the clamp is connected to it? Does the part that's supposed to stay in come out a lot/easy?It is in the center of your first pic. My pic shows the whole thing, including the Part that stays in the rear valve cover.

On my '05, it came out as in the pic. New one went back the same. However, I had the intake off to replace #3 Coil. Different access. Thanks for the quick response. So the hose with the clamp is connected to it? Does the part that's supposed to stay in come out a lot/easy?
One in my pic couple posts back, only had 2 barbs, (none broken) but it did not hold in. I cleaned it up, use heat gun and used a screw driver to spread each one out a bit and when cool it held in securely. That plastic bushing that goes into the valve cover has those four extended tabs with little barbs at each end to help secure it in place. One of more of those will often break off during removal of pcv valve and the whole thing comes out with the valve.
G-4.5 is different. '04 and later PCV is in the back valve cover. Only one fresh air to the front valve cover.'02 Duratecs were different. Under air intake plenum, screwed to Oil Separator box (discontinued gasket). Can access it (NOT Oil Sep.)with long needle nose pliers to twist it out, rags shoved in to clean it up. Don't forget ElbowP under the plenum at other end of PCV VALVE. The collapsed original SMOOTH ones give rough idle, no good. Get the "no collapse" strengthening RIB style, been out a few years now.
Does anyone know if the bushing that goes holds the PCV valve can be purchased. I don't see it at at any parts suppliers. Does the Ford replacement part come with it?That plastic bushing that goes into the valve cover has those four extended tabs with little barbs at each end to help secure it in place. One of more of those will often break off during removal of pcv valve and the whole thing comes out with the valve.
No part # on the black bushing. Pic from JY part. Barbs loose and it pulled right out of the valve cover. Barbs useless. I used a heat gun and warmed each barb up, uses pliers and spred them a tick. I used a light coating of silicone gasket maker and put a light coating over the O-ring and pushed it in the valve cover. This was a $1600 car for my grandson to use at college. Never expect to replace that PCV again. In fact, any used car I buy, new OE part goes on and never expect to have to replace it again. Worch note: '04-'05 years look like previous ones, but they are different inside. Caution.Just pulled one of those PCV bushings at the JY and the only pt # on it is A5-002-MS-19. Not exactly a typical Ford part number.
hey do you know where to get that black part that the PCV valve inserts into?It is in the center of your first pic. My pic shows the whole thing, including the Part that stays in the rear valve cover.

They moved it in '04 & '05. Pic of mine '05 in post #2. PCV valve is different as it screws in.The part that has been discussed earlier in this thread is the fresh-air INLET nipple. The actual PCV valve is under the throttle body in some hoses. This is for my '98 DOHC.

You should put ALL your car's details & history (as much as you know) into your signature so it shows with each post, as this page explains:
(click this text)
Phone apps don't always show signatures, so you may need to switch to a real browser in desktop mode on your phone, or just use a desktop/laptop computer. Put your location (nearest city) in your profile &/or signature, & upload an avatar of the car. The more pics you post (NOT in your sig) of the car, engine, wiring, labels, & undercarriage, the more likely we can help you. Not all its details are relevant to these issues, but you don't necessarily know which ones are relevant, so just put everything in now.
