Hey guys, I got my 00-04 5 spoke rims for the 98 Sable. Now I need tires! What's the widest size you guys have slammed on these. Remember, Im getting the Eibach Springs and KYB Shocks for the car. Also Bobs Strut tower brace. So let me know ASAP!! Thanks guys!

Well... I'm runnin' 225/45ZR17 Nitto Neo-Gens on my 98 Taurus, w/10spoke Rage wheels.(Summer only of course!) I've got the same suspension ste up you're talkin' about, plus an SHO front anti-sway bar. IT ROCKS!!!

I would'nt go wider than 225's, & no lower than 45 series. Wider will give wearing/rubing/handling troubles...& lower will give you a VERY HARSH ride & tire damage if ya' hit ANY pot-holes!

My 235/45-17" Yokohama's don't have any problems.
Yeah, I was going to say that lots of V8 SHO guys run 235s, and there are even a few who run 245s, but I'm not sure if 245 is doable on 16" rims. I'm pretty sure the 245s were 17's.

215 60 16 is stock. I think that's what I have.... I don't even remember, lol.

I'd like to add a tire suggestion as well:

Those are rebranded coopers and I absolutely LOVE them. The do amazing in snow, rain and dry pavement. I can corner on dry pavement like I never have before. So now I can make full use of my SFC's and FSTB.
I got them for $380 installed with road hazard and everything out the door.

Its kind of hard to beat P225/55R16 for the good blend of performance and style. They look awsome on my car. If pot holes are a problem where you live, I would stick to this size. Its nice to see someone else doing stuff to the Gen3 Sable.

Yeah, my Gen 3 Sable is going to be one of the most unique sables out there. Just a little bit of my good old Performance style mixed with some class. It's going to be a nice one! Thanks for all your input, I'll let you know what I end up with. Thanks again
