I want to flush my coolant system, but can't find info on how to do it. Youtube videos are comically lacking in critical info. They don't tell you which generation Taurus or which engine they're working on. I can't even locate the drain plug. Any suggestions?

Drain plug passenger side, right, under radiator. Hidden by plastic moldings. I cut out a small slot in the plastic so the coolant can drain when radiator petcock is open. Now recommended to change to new Ford Yellow Collant, no not Gold.

I took Thermostat out & put the housing back in. Flushed with distilled water three or four times, to get out the orange coolant. Then when water runs clear, put in the Ford Yellow, better they say for the internal coolant pump. New T Stat 180*F if it's over 5 YO. Always used distilled or de-ionized H2O to flush & esp. to mix.
pretty straight forward.
